I'm here!

I'm here and here I stay. I was in the top 3 but didn't make it to the final 1. My applying for another job that is. I'm okay with that because I really do like it here, the other job related to something I used to work on with government grants and funding. The position was a full time specialist which I have the training for but so did a couple of other people apparently. There aren't many other places I would like to go, for one thing I hate starting over and for another I like what I do and who I work with. I would enjoy the other job also and it comes with about the same pay but with benefits that I don't have here. Luckily my husband has good benefits but I would enjoy a contributed 401k, life insurance, paid holidays, paid sick leave... well anything paid ya know. On the up side, I don't have to start over and be the new girl right now.

I still don't know what my dream job is. Sometimes I think I would like it to be one where I could sleep in but I know me and I know that I would just become lazy. I would like one that gave me a little activity aside from swivelling left and right in my chair and turning 180 degrees to look at my co-worker when I talk to her. Sometimes I think I would like to work part time, only 3 days a week, actually that would be nice wouldn't it? I used to work in a pub (that was a long time ago), my nights and days were backwards, it was fun for a while but it wears you out and makes it hard to function sometimes as a parent. For a while I thought it would be nice to have a part time day/office job and waitress a couple nights a week to stay in shape. Shouldn't someone pay me to stay in shape? Why the heck not? The truth is, I don't have a clue what I want to be when I grow up. Retired with money is my ultimate goal, I wish there was a shortcut.

Question:

1. What is your ideal dream job?

Answer: If I only knew. Perhaps a professional wine taster.

That seems like a tight schedule SH, I thought you wanted me to come and manage your office? I would love to scout basketball players, or even stalk them. PR? I'm a bit shy for that but maybe. Mattress tester, that really is right up my alley huh. I do need a nap ya know.

I think I am doing mine at the moment... giving backstage tours around the National Theatre in London and watching all the plays there for free!

That's perfect Newbie. I think it's just in my personality to always want more but I just always get different. I am happy with what I'm doing now, I guess I have to try everything I can once. That would be wonderful working around the theater and having the chance to see the performances.
